As leadership consultants, there are times when we are discouraged, frustrated, lonely or tired — just like anyone else in life. For me personally, I feel like my emotions run on more extreme highs and lows than before I had this job…and it makes sense. The good things about this job are really GREAT: we meet a lot of different people, travel the country, experience new cultures, and most importantly, we have meaningful work. The lows are really difficult sometimes too…it is a challenge living out of a suitcase for four months straight, having our closest relationships be sustained through Skype, and no longer having the consistency and comfort of our home.

In conclusion, yes there are struggles of the position, but every moment of discomfort is worth the amazing journey that being a leadership consultant offers. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I encourage anyone interested to really consider this impactful and challenging experience.
