In the last two weeks, I’ve had the privilege of visiting three wonderful Midwest chapters. At Alpha Epsilon, I got to watch the chapter perform ‘Caught in a Pickle’ at Iowa State’s annual varieties show after attending their aptly themed Pickle Party where they invited the other organizations in their act, as well as their families and alumni, to come over to the white castle (the nickname for the Sigma Kappa house) and eat pickle themed treats.
At Beta Omega (University of Nebraska, Omaha), the chapter participated in a values clarification workshop from the new Workshop Warehouse at: http://sigmakappaworkshops.wordpress.com/. Go check it out; there are a ton of fantastic workshops for you to use at informal meetings or really any time!
Finally, I stopped in Maryville, MO to visit the Kappa Alpha chapter at NW Missouri. The chapter women were gearing up to have a mom’s day celebration and a mother’s pinning ceremony. The mothers were so proud to receive their pins and meet their daughter’s chapter sisters. If you want to have a mother’s pinning at your chapter, you can order pins from National Headquarters using the supply order form, and find the ceremony in the annual supplies for the vice president of alumnae relations.
