Building sisterhood, making memories!

Lindsey Farrow

Where does the time go? I can’t believe it’s already March! Time flies when you’re having fun! Following a little LC reunion in Indianapolis, I headed back down south to begin a fun-filled semester at Kappa Phi! The women enjoyed recruitment workshops and the opportunity to welcome new members into our fabulous sisterhood! As we began preparing for informal recruitment, the members were overjoyed at the opportunity to take on singing and speaking roles during preference. During the philanthropy night, event members were excited to tell the potential new members about our first Ultra Violet event coming up in March . During this event, pansies were potted and given to a local assisted living facility. Although the women enjoyed the opportunity to get their hands a little dirty potting the plants, they really enjoyed decorating the pots with glitter pens and bright stickers to give to the residents! What a great opportunity to focus on several different philanthropies in one great project! Following a week of informal recruitment, we welcomed 18 wonderful new sisters into our Sigma Kappa sisterhood!

Just one week after welcoming our new members, we celebrated our sisterhood at a beach themed retreat.  Members practiced flexibility following a little rain (that’s Florida for ya!), so we held our scheduled programming inside but kept activities beach themed. Members enjoyed the opportunity to play games, get to know new sisters, and recognize accomplishments from the previous semester. These memories will last a lifetime!

Heart sisters on Bid Day! The New Members loved their Vera Bradley bags!
